TKS 226 - 6.5 DAYS SWEETWATERS -SAMBURU-LAKE NAIVASHA-MASAI MARA

DAY 1 (Nairobi-Sweetwaters) A morning drive through Kikuyu farmlands to Sweetwaters private ranch, close to Mount Kenya. After buffet lunch and siesta enjoy a first introduction to the wildlife of Kenya and a chance to see Elephant, Rhino, Giraffe, Zebra and Antelope. Overnight at Sweetwaters luxury camp, right in the heart of the sanctuary. After dinner observe the animals gathering to drink at the floodlit waterhole.

DAY 2 (Sweetwaters-Samburu) Drive further north, crossing the Equator and descend from the green Highlands to Samburu National reserve where the next two nights are spent at one of the luxurious tented camps.

DAY 3 (Samburu) Rise at dawn for a full day game viewing in Samburu with an opportunity to visit a tribal village. There is plenty of wildlife to be seen along the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River including Lion and Elephant, while Samburu's rarer animal species such as Reticulated Giraffe, Oryx, Grevy's Zebra and the Gerenuk are found in the surrounding bush.

DAY 4 (Samburu-Lake Naivasha) Stop at the magnificent Thomson's falls en route to picturesque Lake Naivasha, lying in the Great Rift Valley. From here, visitors can take boat trips on the lake, fish for Bass and Tilapia or simply relax and enjoy the serenity of this most beautiful part of Kenya.

DAY 5 (Lake Naivasha-Masa Mara) Admire perfectly formed volcanoes along the road to Masai Mara game reserve. A leisurely lunch and relaxation before it is time to venture amongst the animals. The next two nights are spent at one of the luxury tented camps for which the Mara is justly famous.

DAY 6 (Masai Mara) A full day in the Mara with hopes of spotting the "Big Five". Here is an ideal opportunity to take an optional early morning balloon safari (cost not included). Keep your eyes peeled for Cheetah or Lion sitting on a knoll surveying their domain. The Mara River, which runs through the reserve contains many Hippo and Crocodile. DAY 7 (Masai Mara-Nairobi) Morning drive back to Nairobi (or option to fly by light aircraft-cost additional) with arrival before lunch.
