DAY 2 (Sweetwaters-Samburu) Drive further north, crossing the Equator and descend from the green Highlands to Samburu National reserve where the next two nights are spent at one of the luxurious tented camps. DAY 3 (Samburu) Rise at dawn for a full day game viewing in Samburu with an opportunity to visit a tribal village. There is plenty of wildlife to be seen along the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River including Lion and Elephant, while Samburu's rarer animal species such as Reticulated Giraffe, Oryx, Grevy's Zebra and the Gerenuk are found in the surrounding bush. DAY 4
(Samburu-Lake Naivasha) Stop at the magnificent Thomson's falls en route
to picturesque Lake Naivasha, lying in the Great Rift Valley. DAY 5 (Lake Naivasha-Masa Mara) Admire perfectly formed volcanoes along the road to Masai Mara game reserve. A leisurely lunch and relaxation before it is time to venture amongst the animals. The next two nights are spent at one of the luxury tented camps for which the Mara is justly famous. DAY 6 (Masai Mara) A full day in the Mara with hopes of spotting the "Big Five". Here is an ideal opportunity to take an optional early morning balloon safari (cost not included). Keep your eyes peeled for Cheetah or Lion sitting on a knoll surveying their domain. The Mara River, which runs through the reserve contains many Hippo and Crocodile. DAY 7 (Masai Mara-Nairobi) Morning drive back to Nairobi (or option to fly by light aircraft-cost additional) with arrival before lunch. |
